I am sorry I have not posted yet this week.  I have a stamp camp tomorrow and I have been preparing for that.  I will post our projects on Friday.  I just wanted to post and say how excited I am to be going to Stampin’ UP! regionals in October!  There are alot of people going so and it will be so fun to meet them face to face!  Hope you are having a great week!

Praying for you

I made this card at the beginning of the week for a couple at church. They seem to be going through a ruff time right now. There barn burned down and the insurance company is giving them grief. I hope it brightened their day this week! I used my MIL set she got at convention when she was visiting last weekend, Fast and Fun Notes. Thanks Mom! I started with a Choc. chip cardbase and stamped it with the new polka dots BG stamp (again thanks Mom!) I used Ruby Red and paper pierced that and adhered a piece of DP from the Loves Me set (retired). I tied and piece of narrow Choc. grosgrain ribbon (retired..urgh!) around that that piece and called it good. I markered the porcupine/butterfly in Choc. chip, close to cocoa, ruby red, and so saffron and stamped that on a piece of distressed WW. I used my blender pen to blend it together and make the shadow. I stamped the praying for you and dots from the hostess set using my stamp-a-ma-jig, I love that thing! I punched the flower and leaves with the spring bouquet punch and added a so saffron brad and adhered that on with a dimensional. And it was finished!
I have been working on a SU! contest entry and getting ready for my stamp camp next week so I am sorry I haven’t posted alot this week. I will try to post my stamp camp cards I have done tomorrow. I hope you all had a great week and have fun with your families this weekend!

Guilty stamping

Do you ever have those days when you have a million things to do but you just can’t pull yourself from the stamp table!  I tried, well, sort of.  I have wanted to do this baby carriage ever since I found it on SCS.  Chantel did this card and I thought is was adorable.  I cased most of the card just changed it a bit.  Her card is still WAY better but I think Steph will like mine too.  I am also making her a baby memory tin to go with the card and other gifts I have for her.  Now I am need to make one for my nephew that says big brother!  I just the simply’ srappin kit for the DP.  The card base is Apricot appeal stamps with the itty bitty BG set in the same color.  The first layer is river rock that is paper pierced and sponged in close to cocoa.  The next layer is textured guava.  I put a layer of vellum paper and stamped it with white craft ink. I used the brads from the vintage collection. I used the coluzzle to make the carriage and cut a piece out.  I sponged it with apricot, river rock, and creamy caramel.  I cut 1/2″ stripes and sewed them on my machine for the carriage detail.  The pitiful handle (if that is what you can call it..LOL) is hand cut.  I used linen thread in the apricot buttons and adhered them with glue dots.  The ribbon is the white taffeta and apricot.

I had fun making it because I don’t get to do many little girl projects in a house of boys!  I do love my boys though, who else would make a construction site in the back yard!!

New Baby!

Nope not me…My SIL and brother had a baby girl this morning at 6:30 a.m.!  She weighs 8 pounds and 3 oz and is 19 1/2 inches long!  Everyone is doing well!  I will post a pic when I get one from my mom later today!  I will make her a card and gift today and post it when I get it done!  Happy day to you!

Summer recipe

I thought I would share a recipe with you since harvest is upon us and we always need new ways to get veggies down our picky kids!  This is for the yellow summer squash. Hope you enjoy.  Sorry I don’t have a picture to go with it.  If I make it soon I will take one or if you make it send me a pic, thanks!!

1 lb. squash, chopped

1 sm. onion, chopped

3 Tbsp. butter

2 eggs, beaten

1 c. milk

1 c. cheese ( I use sharp cheddar)

1 c. cracker crumbs (I usually use kebbler or ritz)

salt, pepper to taste

combine squash, onion, and butter.  Cook until soft, drain and mash. Add remaining ingredients and mix. Pour into greased casserole dish.  Bake at 375 degrees until firm.  Sprinkle on extra cheese when casserole is done, if desired (but who is kidding themselves if they don’t desire more cheese LOL)

Mirror Project

I found these mirrors that are originally zebra stripe at the Dollar spot at Target for $2.50.  I got three of them and have covered two of them.  I thought they might sell at the Farmers market.  I am always trying to find stuff people will like.  I covered the first one in Soft Sky DP.  I used Mod Podge to adhere the paper.  I decorated it with Chipboard and DP from the Petals and Paisley DP and Celery and So Saffron DP.  I put a pink button on the center of the large flower and brads in the smaller two.  I finished it of with a piece of ribbon from the Flirty Ribbons which was in the winter mini.  The second mirror I covered in the Au Chocolate DP also from the winter mini.  I used the flowers from the Pretties Kit and colored them with my SU! markers.  That seems to work ok and I hope it doesn’t fade to much over time!  I also used the wide Chocolate grosgrain ribbon adhereing it on with mini glue dots.  The brown one looks terrible close up so that one will probably stay home or I will give it to someone who likes it and doesn’t care LOL.  I will share more cards later this week!

Next Saturday is Cody’s first birthday and both sets of grandparents are coming in on Friday to help us celebrate!  We are excited but have a busy week to get ready for the party on Saturday.  Also, my SIL is expecting a baby this week and has already been to the hospital twice and sent home!  Don’t you think it is funny that we had the EXACT same due date only one year apart!  I will keep you all posted when that baby comes!  It is a girl and here name is going to be Sienna Michelle.  Ok, enough for tonight!  Have a wonderful week everyone and thank you for stopping by!

Somedays I look at my favorite blogs in amazment.  I think how in the world am I ever going to be that good and ubber creative like them!  Right now I love to look at Just give me Stamps, JBalcer, and Beate’s blog.  I look at most of my blog rolls at least three times a week but everyday I am on the before mentioned blogs.  Do you ever feel that way when looking at the  stamping “greats”?  Off to try to improve in paper crafts…LOL.  I will post a new project later tonight.

Thanks for “listening” to me ramble!
