so simple

card-fronts-1256.jpgI had an email today asking for a notecard set using sheep.  Um, I don’t have many sheep stamps???  This is the first card in the set.  I don’t know if she likes it so I will have to find out before I go on.  This is from the retired SU! set On The Farm.  It is so simple it is almost embarrassing!  It is self explanatory so I will save you the reading!

We got our Christmas tree today.  The lights are on and some ornaments hung.  My husband has always wanted a train to go around the bottom.  We finally got one this year.  Now mind you, we two boys, a one year old and three year old.  I think he thought they would sit back and enjoy the scenery.  Well, my little boys want to touch everything especially a great new train!!!  I think he was a bit disappointed but they did give him the ahhhhh he was looking for once we got the batteries in it and it was moving.  I think it is really cute but it is one more thing to train them not to touch.  It is worth it though to see my hubby happy and the boys do love it, even if it is alittle to much!  I hope you are filled with holiday spirit!  Have a great day!

December Stamp Camp Project #1

card-fronts-1254.jpg Front Cover

This is the first project we will be doing for my December All gifts stamp camp.  This is a decorated tin with a notepad, pocket, and magnets inside.  You will get to choose your DP from the many options I have on hand.  I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t love one of these!  card-fronts-1255.jpg

This is the inside of the tin with the notepad, pocket and magnets (upper left hand corner)

I am offering this class to any of my current customers that can not attend my stamp camp for $25.  This price includes shipping and the other project we will be doing.  This price does not include adhesive as I can not ship ModgePodge.  (Is there anything liquid, flammable, perishable….???) I will post that project later this week.  If you are interested let me know and I will get it to you as soon as I can!   I only have 4 spots open.  For those customers of mine that live near I would love to have you come to class on the 6th at 6:30 or the 8th at 9:00 a.m.!  Please let me know if you can come!  Thanks and hope you enjoy!

Stamp-a-stack class

I am sorry I have been so quiet!  Things have been a zoo around here with events, friends, food, and sick kids!  I am taking Grant to the doctor today with what I am sure is an ear infection.  He had a temp of 104 last night and that was my limit!  I wanted to share the cards we did for the stamp a stack last weekend.  I got to meet alot of new wonderful ladies and spend time with some old friends!  It was  a nice morning!  Thanks for everyone that attended!  I had to plan quickly as this was a last minute event so I CASE’d (copy and share everything) most of my cards this time around. I wanted to have a variety of cards to appeal to alot of styles.

Card #1

card-fronts-1250.jpg Taylor V. made the inspiration card for this one.  I changed a few things to make it alittle less time consuming (less faux stitching) and used all SU! products.  The snowflakes are done in Hologram Highlights.  I made the Wild Wasabi marker using a dried blender pen and a Wild Wasabi reinker.  I think everything else is self explanitory.

Card #2

card-fronts-1249.jpg This was by Debbie Olson .  I loved her color combo and elegant card.  I changed the sentiment and didn’t add the brads she has but that was about it!

Card #3

card-fronts-1245.jpg This card is from ajallan’s  SCS gallery.  I changed the ribbon and didn’t have one of the layers that she has.  (It was already alot of cutting…:)

Card #4

card-fronts-1247.jpg I designed this quick and simple card.  It used alot of punches and the the DP did most of the work!  I also had the choice of a River Rock cardbase and red ribbon that was pretty.  The set used is Perfect Presentation Level 2 hostess set.

Thanks for looking and I hope to back later today with one of the projects we will be doing for the October 6th/8th stamp camp!  Have a great day!

I have not gotten to stamp the past few days but this is a project I did when my Mom was here last.  She made her banner say Merry.  It was cute! I used alot of different things in this tag banner.  Each tag is 2×3 and I used the tag punch to make the corners.  The pic is not the greatest sorry!  I hope you have a great day!

ETA:I realized that I needed to take some close ups of the tags. I will post them later!

Beate’s WSC28

This card is for Beate’s Weekend Sketch challenge here

I did this card and at first I hated it.  I started with the flower and my coloring was awful so I just keep adding layers and layers of color, clear embossing powder, glitter and finally a pearl center from the Pretties Kit.  I used every coloring medium that I owned almost..sigh. The picture does not really show all of the details that you see IRL.  It gets the point across though.  I need to work on my watercoloring skills but you have to start somewhere right?? Anyway, here is the supplies I used.  I am not going to go step by step because it would take forever…:)

Cardstock:Old Olive, Cameo Coral, Old Olive

Paper:Apple Cider DP (time is running out to get this!!)

Ink: Timber brown Stazon, Cameo Coral, More mustard, ruby red

Stamp Set: Time Well Spent (Level three hostess set from Spring/Summer 2008)

Accessories: Versamark Marker, Clear embossing powder, glitter, two way glue pen,, blender pen, markers, WW crayons, (are you laughing yet?). Pretties Kit, Old Olive Grosgrain ribbon, mini glue dots, pop up glue dots, corner rounder, paper piercer, word window punch, library clips (mini), sponge, Sewing machine and white thread

I got to see the NEW catalog preview today!  There is an adorable baby set, new gorgeous papers, rub-ons, and a bundle to get free ribbon for Valentine’s day!!  Can’t wait for everyone to see it!

Have a wonderful weekend!

to share today, yet (I get an SU! box later)!  I just wanted to tell you about two things.  Taylor is having a week long blog candy fest!  She is on my blogroll under Taylored Expressions.  Also, when I hit 15,000 hits I will be offering blog candy as well so watch for that! Have a great day!

You know when..

you are making a card and nothing seems to look right or turn out how you thought?  That is what this card is for me!  You would think with a sketch it would be pretty straight forward, LOL!  This is one of those cards that took way to long and still doesn’t float my boat.  I started with a sage shadow cardbase and stamped some circles and snowflakes on that.  Did like it so I had to cover it up with a piece of DP (it took me the whole card process to do this though..).  I know this layer is not on the sketch but it was the only way I was going to salvage the card, in my mind anyway:) .  I layered Always artichoke and a piece of snowflake DP from the Wintergreen collection.  I sewed that with brown thread on my sewing machine. I then used a build a brad and a 3/4″ circle to finish off that layer.  I put a layer of white, always artichoke, and sage shadow under the main image. This is the stamp from the Enjoy Every Moment stamp set.  I used my Pomegranate marker that I made (you soak up the reinker into a dried out blender pen) and colored the joy part of the enjoy sentiment.  I stamped it using my trusty stamp-a-ma-jig.  I used the snowflake from Perfect Presentation hostess set and colored that sage shadow and punched it out with the 3/4″ punch.  I added a little glitter to that with the two way glue pen.  It looked blah so I sponged it, punched the corners with the ticket punch and took it to the sewing machine. I stitched it and added some brads and it was a wee bit better.  I finally added some hardware from the Hodgepodge Hardware kit and a piece of Double stitched (how many times can I type stitched in one post…) pomegranate ribbon.  I was done but not entirely happy with it.  I have stamped a whole nap time away and only one card to show for it.  Oh well, the work will still be there, LOL!  Off I go!!  Have a great day!
