Birthday bag and news

dscn2518.jpg This is a bad picture of my SIL’s wrapped birthday gift.  I made the tag to match the bag.  I had the bag in my stash and always thougt it was pretty.  I will show you her gift later.  Here is a close up of the tag:

dscn2519.jpg I am sorry the pictures are not better.  I hope I can get my camera fixed soon.  I used a Chipbaord tag and covered it with real read on the front that was embossed in a maize (retired) embossing powder using Brocade Motifs.  I paper pierced the bottom of the tag and added a strip of Wild Wasabi.  I put polka dots on the tag using a pencil eraser and versamark.  I used Temping Turquoise to make the flower and punched it with the five petal punch.  I added a rhinestone brad from the pretties kit.  I added a smaller tag stamped with the happy birthday in wild wasabi and backed that on purely pomegranate.  I really did all match the bag IRL 🙂

My husband got offered a job in Seattle this week!  It is bittersweet to leave Idaho.  I will miss my friends and customers here.  I am excited to be closer to my family and have customers there that will be happy to have me there.  Alas, I will start packing right after Christmas.  We are suppose to be there mid-January.  I am still having my stamp camp on January 10th.  As I told a friend, I have to keep my priorities straight…stamp!!!  LOL. Alot to do which is a bit mind boggling but it will all get done somehow, can anyone say caffeine??

I made this little nugget box with the instructions here on SCS.  Some wonderful lady made instructions for any size you could ever want!  I used Real Red for my box.  I used White Stazon for the Snow Flurries snowflake on the transparency sheet.  I made a belly band in Old Olive and tied a piece of White taffeta ribbon on that.  I wrapped my nuggets in Dashing and Old Olive DP and added a snowflurry accent. I am adding this to my package going to my BIL, SIL, and niece. They are not much of sweets eaters so it will be a perfect size!  Have a happy day!

Simple gift tag and winner!

Here is a pic of my very simple gift tags this year.  All I did was punch a large red tag with the punch.  I stamped the initial of the recipient on white cardstock and punched that with the small tag punch.  punched a wild wasabi little pieces and added that with a dimensional.  Punched a hole in the top added a ribbon to tie it on with and done!  Just thought I would share.

Ok, now for the winner….The winner is Janet B.!  Email me your snail mail address at and I will get you your prize in the mail!!  Congrats!  Thanks to all of you who leave comments on my posts.  Sometimes I see the numbers go up on the counter but no comments so it gets a little discouraging.  I don’t know that I will blog next year but we will just have to see what life holds before I make my decision.  Hope you all have a great week!  Only 8 days until Christmas!!

Joy Swag

What a good day..My son’s and I went and surprised my hubby (well we were going to surprise but I am not very good at that so I told my hubby when we were on the way) and took him to lunch.  The boys came home and are napping well and I got a gift done.  I will show that to you tomorrow as my camera is on the fritz right now.  Here is a project that I revised from one of the last issues of Paper Crafts.  This picture does not show all the detail that the swag has.  I am sorry about that.  I am going to have to get out my camera’s manual (after three years…LOL) and figure out how to use the thing properly!  Here is what I used for this project:

Swag I got at Micheal’s, Chipboard Letters and holly wreaths from SU!, Perfect Presentation Hostess set, Real Red and Whisper White Cardstock, Old Olive DP, Metal edge tags, LOTS of Real Red buttons, Pop-Up glue dots, Ribbon, white thread (in the button holes), Paper piercer, Anywhere glue stickdscn2497.jpg

Advent Calendar

Wheww finally done!  This was a fun project but boy did it take a LONG time!  It didn’t help that I using my sewing machine on 3/4 of the squares.  If you are ready to do this project here are the instructions of SCS by Beate.  Mine is almost exactly like hers except I changed the top portion a little bit, added ribbon around all the edges of the canvas,  used my sewing machine on the panels, and used push pins to hold my ribbon for the hanger.  My push pins were once orange and blue!  Now they are a pretty silver to match the tins and rhinestone brads that dot my i’s!  I embossed them with silver embossing powder and versamark!  I thought it was a bit of genius on my part 🙂 The snowflakes are from the holiday mini that you can order from for about another hour.  I used red craft ink and dried that with my heat gun.  I sprinkled alittle bit of hologram highlights on that (before I dried it.) I then stamp the swirls from Priceless onto the snowflake in white craft ink.  I inked the whole snowflake in versamark and used Glazy Glase as the final layer.  I love that stuff!

Here is a pic of the snowflake and embossed push pin:

I think that is all the changes.  There are alot of cute advent calendars in the gallery on SCS you should go and see!

My hubby and I went on a date Christmas shopping tonight.  I got a really good deal on a popping lawn mower for my one year old (what was I thinking??) and went to two Targets and called the other and NO sock monkey in the wagon!  I finally called the Target by my Mom’s house which is 9 hours away and they had one left and the man said he wasn’t suppose to hold things but would hold it if I would come right in….uhhh ok!   My mom is so great that I called her at 7:30 p.m. after a long work week and she was still happy to go and get it for me!  Thank you MOM!!!  Do you ever have your heart set on a gift and then can’t find it??  I was really dissapointed when I didn’t think I could get it for him becaue I think he will really like it.  Anyway, long story to say she got it and the monkey will be here next week!

Have a great weekend!

card-fronts-1254.jpg Front Cover

This is the first project we will be doing for my December All gifts stamp camp.  This is a decorated tin with a notepad, pocket, and magnets inside.  You will get to choose your DP from the many options I have on hand.  I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t love one of these!  card-fronts-1255.jpg

This is the inside of the tin with the notepad, pocket and magnets (upper left hand corner)

I am offering this class to any of my current customers that can not attend my stamp camp for $25.  This price includes shipping and the other project we will be doing.  This price does not include adhesive as I can not ship ModgePodge.  (Is there anything liquid, flammable, perishable….???) I will post that project later this week.  If you are interested let me know and I will get it to you as soon as I can!   I only have 4 spots open.  For those customers of mine that live near I would love to have you come to class on the 6th at 6:30 or the 8th at 9:00 a.m.!  Please let me know if you can come!  Thanks and hope you enjoy!

I have not gotten to stamp the past few days but this is a project I did when my Mom was here last.  She made her banner say Merry.  It was cute! I used alot of different things in this tag banner.  Each tag is 2×3 and I used the tag punch to make the corners.  The pic is not the greatest sorry!  I hope you have a great day!

ETA:I realized that I needed to take some close ups of the tags. I will post them later!
