I love the holidays..

and snow!  I love how quiet and clean the snow makes everything feel!  I love that you have an excuse to cuddle up and read how long you want to with your kids because you can’t go anywhere and things that seemed so important can now wait, it is snowing! I love the memories of childhood that the falling snow brings.  (Even if some of the memories involve hidden rocks in snowballs…)  It got me in the mood to work on my Christmas cards and letters.  It is always interesting to me to sit down and write our letter.  This year I wrote it a little differently than years past.  I am doing a much simpler card than years past as well.  I think that is my theme right now, simple.  I am trying hard to streamline and simplify.  Some days I am good at it, not so much others.  My doves went to bed so now I will go too.  Isn’t snuggling when you know it is so cold out a dreamy thought?  Have sweet dreams!

Birthday bag and news

dscn2518.jpg This is a bad picture of my SIL’s wrapped birthday gift.  I made the tag to match the bag.  I had the bag in my stash and always thougt it was pretty.  I will show you her gift later.  Here is a close up of the tag:

dscn2519.jpg I am sorry the pictures are not better.  I hope I can get my camera fixed soon.  I used a Chipbaord tag and covered it with real read on the front that was embossed in a maize (retired) embossing powder using Brocade Motifs.  I paper pierced the bottom of the tag and added a strip of Wild Wasabi.  I put polka dots on the tag using a pencil eraser and versamark.  I used Temping Turquoise to make the flower and punched it with the five petal punch.  I added a rhinestone brad from the pretties kit.  I added a smaller tag stamped with the happy birthday in wild wasabi and backed that on purely pomegranate.  I really did all match the bag IRL 🙂

My husband got offered a job in Seattle this week!  It is bittersweet to leave Idaho.  I will miss my friends and customers here.  I am excited to be closer to my family and have customers there that will be happy to have me there.  Alas, I will start packing right after Christmas.  We are suppose to be there mid-January.  I am still having my stamp camp on January 10th.  As I told a friend, I have to keep my priorities straight…stamp!!!  LOL. Alot to do which is a bit mind boggling but it will all get done somehow, can anyone say caffeine??

Oh BOY….

am I in trouble!  I got the new Stampin’ UP! Spring-Summer Collection 2008 Idea Book and Catalog today!!  It has alot of new gorgeous stuff in it!  I love the felt flowers, Desinger paper, new ribbon, beads, rub-ons, stamps, and much more!  I can’t wait to get my boxes in and get this into my customers hands that will love it as much as I do!  I wish I could take pics and show you but I don’t think we are suppose to do that.  If you live by me come on over and see it!!  I am just so excited and I hope I get lots of money in my stocking 🙂

Count our blessings

Have you ever had one of those weeks where all you want to do it go to bed and wake up when everything is over or changed?  That has been my week.  But, as I sit here and want to complain about the lot that life has given me today I have to sit back and thank God for the wonderful blessings He has given me.  I sit listening to my two young precious gifts God has given me play and laugh and I have to go join.  I feel the love of my family and friends that come to my rescue and support in real times of need.  The emails, cards, hugs, and offers to help with anything mean so much and I am so grateful to have each of them in my life.  As I lie awake at night I look at my gorgeous and loving husband, who even though has troubles of his own, always puts me first.  Life is full of wonderful things even during the times that seem to only bring sorrow.  Thanks for letting me share my thoughts and for coming to see things I have created.  I will share something I did last week later today.  I hope each of you has many blessings you can count today and everyday.

Blog Candy for a Cause

It would almost make you feel guilty to win this blog candy because if you participate you have already received a prize.  Andrea at Crafty Engineering has a wonderful RAK/blog candy project going on right now.  Go check out her site and read a little about the family and then send them a card!  I will post my card that I send them when I get back from California. Have a great week!

I am sorry I have not posted yet this week.  I have a stamp camp tomorrow and I have been preparing for that.  I will post our projects on Friday.  I just wanted to post and say how excited I am to be going to Stampin’ UP! regionals in October!  There are alot of people going so and it will be so fun to meet them face to face!  Hope you are having a great week!

Somedays I look at my favorite blogs in amazment.  I think how in the world am I ever going to be that good and ubber creative like them!  Right now I love to look at Just give me Stamps, JBalcer, and Beate’s blog.  I look at most of my blog rolls at least three times a week but everyday I am on the before mentioned blogs.  Do you ever feel that way when looking at the  stamping “greats”?  Off to try to improve in paper crafts…LOL.  I will post a new project later tonight.

Thanks for “listening” to me ramble!
